About.
Hi, I’m Courtney! Welcome here, I’m so happy you have found your way to my Substack. Writing and sharing real-life, authentic stories has been a dream of mine for a long time. This Substack is that dream turned to reality. I am a Human Design and Movement Guide, millennial, animal and nature lover, and a highly sensitive being. The stories I write are essentially my take on life, the universe, and everything. I have a gift for seeing various layers of meaning in my lived experiences. I am able to extract lessons and stories from these experiences that are entertaining and (hopefully!) helpful to others on their own journey. You can learn more about me and my work here.
Why The Channel of Sensitivity?
In my Human Design Chart, I have two channels (which represent how my energy flows, and my natural strengths). One of the channels is the Channel of Storytelling (of course!), and the other is called the Channel of Sensitivity. The Channel of Sensitivity picks up on things others miss. It notices patterns, emotions, colours, and whispers from other realms. The Channel of Sensitivity is deeply connected to the earth and also the cosmos, acting as a bridge between the two. The Channel of Sensitivity is sensitive to where we are going as a species, and how to best get there. I chose to name this publication The Channel of Sensitivity because my intention is that it acts as a bridge or channel of deep, rich, meaningful information to the hearts and minds of those who are ready to receive it. I sincerely hope that my words here will support you in opening up to your own sensitivity - the whispers from your body, soul, heart, and spirit team - and that this deeper connection is a guiding light for you on your own journey back to your true self.
Why Movement Stories?
These bodies we inhabit are a marriage of heaven and earth. The decisions we make about how we move our bodies ripple out and influence every other aspect of our lives. As I like to say, sport imitates life. And how we do one thing is how we do everything. If we can master the simple moments of our lives - such as how we choose to move our bodies - this sets us up to master the more complex things life throws our way.
In the Movement Stories series on this channel, I guide my invited guests to share their unique movement experiences. We explore their history with movement, their background in sport/exercise, challenges they’ve faced in this area, and their current movement practice, all while weaving in wisdom from their unique Human Design Chart. My intention with this series is to help viewers to see that with movement, as with life, there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” approach. Human Design can be an incredible tool for helping to create a simple, sustainable movement practice that feeds mind, body, and soul. The Movement Stories series demonstrates how this is possible.
What to expect?
New posts every Friday! I’ll upload either a written post with a story/reflection/blog/diary-style piece, OR a video post with a Movement Stories series interview.
