When your work is something as intangible and “out there” as what I do, sometimes the question “What do you do?” invokes a lot of anxiety. Sometimes, when I’m asked this question, my heart beats faster and my voice catches in my throat. Thoughts like “Will they think I’m crazy?” or “Will they even understand this at all?” race through my mind as I struggle to find the words. Interestingly, as a quad right in Human Design, the answer that is extracted from me depends on the person asking the question. I’ve answered the question “What do you do?” a hundred different ways in the last 5+ years since starting my business.
Yesterday, I was reflecting on an interesting answer I gave to someone a few months ago. I was having a conversation with an entrepreneur who is a very logical thinker and, by his own admission, simply cannot get on board with ideas like “energy”, “auras”, or “chakras.” He told me that he goes to yoga once per week and loves the physical and mental benefits he experiences, but when the instructor talks about more esoteric concepts, he has a hard time wrapping his brain around them. The interesting thing about this conversation with this man was that he wasn’t saying his yoga instructor is crazy for talking about things like that. He was simply stating his own experience with these topics. I really appreciated his attitude and his honest sharing, and was very inspired by it. How often do we twist ourselves into pretzels during conversations, with the hope of developing a rapport with someone based on the fact that we “think the same way about things?” I know I have certainly been guilty of this. But what lies beyond this tendency is a much deeper form of connection, one based on mutual respect and an honouring of one another’s individual experiences and truth. Even if I have a different personal experience than someone else, I would rather share my own experience honestly and have them do the same than pretend to be on the same page when actually we are not. Different perspectives and ways of making sense of reality are what make life so interesting, in my opinion!
But I digress. Let’s go back to that conversation. This man is a very successful entrepreneur, and a logical thinker. He’s not into spirituality at all. He asked me what I do, and I told him a little bit about Human Design. He let me get about two sentences deep before cutting me off and asking another question: “What problem does your work solve?”
I paused for a beat while tapping into the passion and fire of my Solar Plexus (my Inner Authority). Then I answered:
“My works solves the problem of people living their lives without ever really knowing what life is for. My work helps people to answer the big questions like ‘Who am I, really?’ and ‘What am I here for?’ My work helps people to identify and shine their unique light and gifts out into the world, while healing and transmuting anything that is holding them back from their highest expression.”
I don’t exactly remember his reaction to my answer. But I could see him making the internal decision of “Ok, not for me”, and we simply moved on with the conversation.
And I was perfectly fine with that. I know that Human Design isn’t the right tool for everyone. And I know, as a Projector, that my own gifts and way of seeing the world are definitely not meant to serve everyone. But the ones I am here to serve, I am here to serve big time.
Because you have chosen to be here, reading these words, amid the billions of other things you could be doing with your time and your life force, I know that I am here to serve you. Even if we never meet, even if we never have a session together, it is my hope that something I’ve written or put out into the online world over these last five years helps to draw you just a little bit closer to who you really are. If I can offer you a small dose of clarity, a little bit of refinement, a tiny taste of the beauty of a life lived in alignment with one’s own true nature… then I will have done my job.
From the depths of my soul, I believe in this work because I can sense where we are heading as a collective. We are heading beyond the logical, beyond the linear, and into the quantum. Our advances in science and technology reflect this shift. Cultivating a deep relationship with the advanced technology of our own bodies and energy fields prepares us for this shift that is already underway. Discovering and leaning into our own unique gifts and abilities helps us to stay in our own lane, living the lives we truly came here to live. If each person on the planet did this, I firmly believe that many of the issues we are facing as a collective would be resolved organically. People would tap into their extraordinary gifts and higher potential, and would come together in coherent and aligned groups to build, lead, guide, and achieve more than we can even imagine as possible.
Questions I am asking in my own life lately are:
How good can it get?
How good can I feel within my own body?
How much peace can I experience in my mind?
How much love can I open up to in my heart?
What is the highest octave of my gifts that I am able to express, in work, relationships, and beyond?
As an eternal optimist, I see so much beauty and potential in the chaos of these times on Earth. Because I have studied the 2027 shift that is coming in a mere 1.5 years, I know that the chaos we are currently experiencing has a wider and vaster intelligence to it. Humanity is evolving to a higher octave, and I believe that Human Design is one of the tools available at this time to help us get there.
Is it a tool that is right for you? Only you can answer that question!

“The Human Design System is not a belief system. If does not require that you believe in anything. It is neither stories nor philosophy. It is a concrete map to the nature of being, a mapping of your genetic code. This ability to be able to detail the mechanics of our nature in such depth is obviously profound because it reveals our complete nature in all its subtleties. Human Design opens the door to the potential of self-love, a love of life and the love of others through understanding.”
